Store sealed in the original container in a cool (ideally below 25°C), dry, dark place away from heat sources and oxidisers; do not store long-term in bare plastic (terpenes attack some polymers). Under these conditions the shelf life is 24 months from production; once opened, keep the container tightly closed, minimise headspace or re-nitrogen, and use within 6-12 months — the limonene fraction oxidises over time, producing off-notes and potential skin-sensitisation markers in badly aged oil.
Transport: avoid prolonged sun exposure and high-temperature holds; the oil is flammable-classed when the batch flash point is ≤60°C, so observe dangerous-goods handling rules (no smoking, grounded containers, UN packaging). Minor haze or wax in cold conditions is normal and clears on gentle warming. Do not return unused oil to the original container after exposure to air/moisture; keep the batch label attached throughout storage for traceability.
