How is lemon oil used in perfumery?

In perfumery lemon oil works as a fresh citrus top note: it opens a composition, lifts the heart and fades within the first minutes.

Practical use

• Typical dose in a finished fragrance compound: traces to a few percent, set by IFRA category.
• Pairs with a fixative base (woods, musks, resins) to stretch the short citrus life.
• Aldehyde-rich lots read brighter; use them where you want immediate lift.
