It is used as a flavour / fragrance material, dosed per formulation. Formulators label it as the product (species) extract and note it is distinct from a generic essential oil (species-specific extract).

Cosmetic use follows the Cosmetic Safety Technical Specification and EU 1223/2009; safety assessment applies.
