What is the shelf life and how should zedoary turmeric oil be stored?
The shelf life of zedoary turmeric oil is 36 months from the production date when stored correctly. Per the pharmacopoeia, it must be kept protected from light, in a sealed container, in a cool place. Avoid heat, direct sunlight, air and moisture, which accelerate oxidation and loss of the volatile actives.

- Opened drums should be used within 12 months; partial drums should be re-sealed immediately with the liner pressed down
- If storage deviates from the recommendation, the pharmacopoeia-grade claim may no longer apply; re-test before medicinal use
Inspection Points
- Check seal integrity on receipt; reject drums with leaking seals
- Store drums on pallets, off the floor, away from walls in a ventilated area
- Keep batch records so the oldest stock is used first (FIFO)
