  • Tea tree is more skin-tolerant and better documented for topical antibacterial use than high-cineole eucalyptus
  • Cineole-rich oils (eucalyptus, cajeput) are better for "breathe easy" respiratory fragrance but more irritating on skin
  • Manuka is a premium niche oil with a different chemical class; tea tree remains the cost-effective workhorse
  • Tea tree's lower cineole and high terpinen-4-ol meet the ISO 4730 specification that guarantees its recognized quality
  • For most industrial and personal-care programs, tea tree gives the best performance-to-price ratio
