Is the preservative-free hydrosol safe from microbial contamination?

Yes — within its sealed shelf life. The product is safe by design: steam distillation sterilizes the water phase, filling is aseptic, the bottle is sealed and the mildly acidic pH discourages microbial growth.

Every batch is released only after microbial testing (total viable count, yeast and mold) passes the limits in the Chinese Cosmetic Safety and Technical Specifications (2015) and comparable international requirements. Because no preservative is added, correct storage and short use-window after opening are part of the safety chain — keep sealed, cool and dark.

We provide the batch microbial report and can run challenge testing for your finished formula if required.
