Does orris absolute require an IFRA allergen declaration?

Yes. Like all natural essential oils and absolutes, orris absolute is supplied with an IFRA-compliant allergen declaration. Under the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 Annex III and IFRA guidance, the fragrance allergens naturally present must be disclosed when the finished product crosses the declaration threshold.

DeclarationPer-batch allergen report in IFRA/EU format
IFRA standardUsage recommendation within IFRA Category limits for the finished fragrance
Quantitative GC-MSTrace-level analysis to the 0.001% reporting level
  • The declaration is issued per batch, because natural allergen levels vary slightly with harvest
  • We also recommend maximum use levels consistent with IFRA's current Amended Standards for the fragrance category
  • For skin-contact products, keep the recommended in-use level to stay safely under the 3% EU cosmetic allergen labeling threshold

Request the allergen report together with the COA — both are generated from the same batch data.
