How does orris absolute compare with orris butter, orris concrete and pure irone?
These four products come from the same rhizome but differ in process, strength and price:
- Orris concrete (鸢尾浸膏): solvent extract before dewaxing — waxy, 9–20% irone, the FCC-listed food/flavor form
- Orris absolute (鸢尾净油): concrete further dewaxed at low temperature — more concentrated, cleaner, fully alcohol-soluble
- Orris butter / oil (鸢尾根油): the steam-distilled product of aged rhizomes — classic, lighter aroma
- Pure irone: molecular-distilled or rectified grade at 60%+ irone — the most intense and most expensive
