How does honeysuckle oil compare with jasmine, neroli and other floral oils?

Compared with jasmine and neroli, honeysuckle is brighter and greener with a distinctive honeyed sweetness, less indolic and more transparent — closer in function to a radiant natural floral lift than to a heavy exotic note.

Quick Comparison

OilCharacterPrice LevelTypical Role
HoneysuckleGreen-honeyed, fresh, dewyHighTop–heart, fresh floral
JasmineRich, indolic, sensualVery highHeart, full floral
NeroliBitter-orange floral, cleanVery highTop, classic floral
OsmanthusApricot-honey, fruity-floralHighHeart, oriental
GardeniaCreamy, heavy white floralVery highHeart, creamy floral
Where jasmine is heady and indolic and neroli is crisp and citrusy, honeysuckle sits between them: the green top of neroli with a honeyed floral heart closer to osmanthus. It is often used to lighten a jasmine-heavy formula or add a dewy freshness that neroli cannot give.

If you currently use jasmine or neroli, request a comparison sample pack and run a side-by-side smelling test in your own base.
