Is Astragalus root oil supply seasonal? When should I plan my orders?
Astragalus root harvest is seasonal, but our stock and contracts smooth supply year-round.
Seasonality & Planning
| Factor | Detail |
|---|---|
| Harvest window | Roots harvested in autumn (Sept–Oct) after 3–4 years of growth; main lot arrives Oct–Dec |
| New-harvest pricing | Fresh-lot prices are typically more favorable in Q4–Q1 |
| Supply gaps | Mid-year (Q2–Q3) demand peaks can tighten spot supply and raise prices |
| Recommendation | Place Q3–Q4 orders for Q1–Q2 delivery; reserve framework volume 3–6 months ahead |
| Safety stock | Steam-distilled standard grade is kept in stock year-round for urgent calls |
- For CO2 premium or organic lots, lock harvest volumes before the October harvest for the best marker quality and price
- Our contract farmers' yields are pre-agreed, protecting your volume against market swings
